RAWALPINDI, Feb 23 (APP): Police have arrested eight individuals as part of an ongoing crackdown against violations of the Tenancy Act, Police spokesperson said on Monday.
The crackdown was conducted in the jurisdictions of Wah Cantt and Saddar Bairooni police stations, where individuals were found to have failed to register tenants as required by law.
The search operations were being conducted on a daily basis to ensure compliance with the Tenancy Act, adding that failure to register tenants and domestic employees is a punishable offense.
City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani urged citizens to ensure timely registration of tenants and employees through their relevant police stations, police service centres or the Punjab Police mobile application.
He also encouraged the public to report violations to nearby police stations, assuring that informer s’ identities would be kept confidential.
The crackdown is part of broader efforts by Rawalpindi Police to strengthen public safety and prevent crime in Rawalpindi, he added.
