SARGODHA, Feb 23 (APP):Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Monday directed the relevant departments to ensure
timely completion of mega development projects worth Rs 36 billion.
Presiding over a review meeting, the commissioner emphasized that sewerage and rainwater drainage
schemes must be completed before the onset of the monsoon season to provide maximum
relief to the citizens.
The meeting was attended by Director Development Bilal Hassan, Managing Director WASA,
and Deputy Directors of Development from four districts, alongside other senior officials.
The commissioner was briefed that mega projects, including the restoration of sewerage systems, installation
of new drainage lines, and street construction using tuff tiles, were underway across eight cities, including Sargodha, Bhera, Bhalwal, Silanwali, Sahiwal, Khushab, Jauharabad, Mianwali, and Bhakkar.
During the briefing, the MD WASA informed the participants that a massive sewerage project costing approximately
Rs 14 billion was being executed in Sargodha city alone.
Hafiz Shaukat Ali directed the officials to maintain high standards of quality and warned that no compromise would be tolerated regarding the pace of work or transparency.
