RAWALPINDI, Feb 23 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested six suspects and seized 21 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs 2.3 million in five operations conducted across various cities, an ANF spokesperson said on Monday.
He said 800 grams of methamphetamine, commonly known as ice, and 600 grams of hashish were recovered from the shoes of a man and a woman at Lahore Airport. Both suspects were taken into custody.
In a separate operation, 8 kg of hashish were seized from a suspect near the Karachi Bus Terminal.
Meanwhile, 5.4 kg of hashish were recovered from a vehicle near Chungi No. 26 in Islamabad, leading to the arrest of the accused.
In Multan, ANF officials confiscated 5 kg of hashish concealed in a steel cupboard near the Sher Shah Toll Plaza and arrested the suspect involved.
In another operation near the Motorway Toll Plaza in Islamabad, 1.2 kg of hashish and 50 grams of ice were recovered from a vehicle. The suspect was arrested at the scene.
Cases have been registered against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway, the spokesperson added.
