MIRPUR ( AJK) , Feb 23 (APP):On the special instructions of Secretary Industries and Commerce, Labor Welfare, Sardar Adnan Khurshid, Special Magistrate Price Control, District Mirpur, Raja Waseem Afzal and inspector Instrument Measurement Ijaz Ahmed led team has checked the weight and pressure of the cylinders in Khambal Akbar Road. Beef, mutton, chicken and fruit shops and removed the trays illegally installed with mincing machines.
The team destroyed the substandard mince in butcher shops imposing fines on the spot besides issuing warnings for using substandard instruments, District administration official spokesman told APP .
And at the same time special raiding team led by Mirpur-AJK Tehsildar Chaudhry Imran Yousuf Chaudhry, flanked by the police force, here inspected various food shops at Thothal Fazil Chowk, Thothal, Hall Road, Old Chungi, and New City Gate and posed fine for selling items without clearly displayed official price lists on their shops.
At least 9 shopkeepers found selling items installing stalls in the middle of the roads selling edibles at higher prices were arrested on the spot, according to the spokesman.
According to details, on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Raja Muhammad Sadaqat Khan, various magistrates led team were continuously engaged in checking items in the markets during day and evening hours to check price control across the district.
During the inspection of vegetables, fruits, meat, pakoras, samosas, fish fry and other food items, 9 shopkeepers were arrested for not displaying rate lists in a prominent place, charging more than the prescribed rates and selling items by setting up stalls on the road.
