RAWALPINDI, Feb 22 (APP):City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has launched a strict crackdown against the illegal use of LED, police, and flasher lights on vehicles to enhance road safety and prevent fatal road accidents across the district.
Chief Traffic Officer CTO Farhan Aslam emphasized that the use of such lights on vehicles and motorcycles is a legal offence, and violators will face strict action. Proper vehicle lighting, especially during night driving, is crucial as it acts as the driver’s “eyes on the road” and helps avoid accidents.
“Using LED and flasher lights is not a fashion, it’s a hazard,” Farhan Aslam said, urging citizens to refrain from installing illegal lights to evade legal consequences.
The CTP Education Wing is also running awareness campaigns highlighting the dangers of improper LED and flasher lights.
The CTO reminded the public that road safety is a shared responsibility and called on all citizens to cooperate with authorities to maintain safe roads.
