ISLAMABAD, Feb 22 (APP):A gas cylinder explosion occurred in a flat near North Nazimabad, Karachi, in the wee hours of Sunday, leaving a child dead and four others with burn injuries.
According to initial reports, rescue officials confirmed that one child lost his life on the spot while four others, including a woman, suffered serious burn injuries and were rushed to the hospital. The extensive flames forced the evacuation of the flat, a private news channel reported.
It was reported that the fire broke out following the explosion of a gas cylinder. Upon receiving the alert, rescue teams and fire brigades swiftly arrived at the location and managed to bring the fire under control.
Sindh’s inspector general of police reached the scene immediately and assigned SSP Central to oversee the ongoing rescue efforts.
The blast was so powerful that its sound was heard in distant areas, creating panic among residents, who rushed out of their homes in fear.
