ISLAMABAD, Feb 20 (APP): Capital Hospital on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Alibaba Medical AI to introduce artificial intelligence (AI)-based screening solutions in imaging radiology, according to a press release.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at the hospital and was attended by Executive Director Dr Naeem Taj, senior doctors and representatives of Alibaba Medical AI.

Under the agreement, AI technologies will be integrated into the hospital’s radiology department to support imaging interpretation and screening processes.
The initiative aims to enhance diagnostic accuracy, facilitate early detection of diseases, improve workflow efficiency and strengthen the overall quality of patient care.
Hospital officials said the AI-based solutions would assist medical practitioners by providing analysis of medical images, supporting clinical decision-making and reducing reporting turnaround times.

The development is part of efforts to modernise public health facilities under the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
In a statement, Dr Taj said the collaboration reflected the CDA leadership’s vision to adopt digital healthcare practices and improve patient outcomes through innovation.
He added that the introduction of AI tools was intended to equip medical professionals with reliable diagnostic support and enable patients to benefit from advanced medical technologies.
