RAWALPINDI, Feb 20 (APP): Superintendent of Police (SP) Headquarters Mudassar Iqbal on Friday visited the Judicial Complex and the old Kachehry (district courts) on the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani to review security arrangements.
During the visit, the SP Headquarters checked duty deployment point by point and directed personnel to remain alert and perform security duties in view of the prevailing situation.
He instructed that effective security be ensured in accordance with standard operating procedures while transporting under-trial prisoners to and from the courts. He further directed that all individuals entering the court premises be subjected to walk-through gate screening and body search.
He said monitoring of the Judicial Complex and the old courts was being carried out through closed-circuit television cameras to ensure comprehensive surveillance.
The SP Headquarters emphasised that the safety of honourable judges, lawyers and citizens would be ensured at all costs. He reiterated that protection of life and property of citizens remained the top priority of the Rawalpindi Police.
