ISLAMABAD, Feb 20 (APP): Dr Shoaib Suddle, retired Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, on Friday emphasized the need for unity of command, specialization with integration, and effective oversight while addressing the graduation ceremony of the 16th Domain-Specific Mid-Career Management Course at the National Police Academy (NPA).
Speaking as chief guest, Dr Suddle said modern policing demands coordinated command structures, technology-driven systems, and strong accountability mechanisms. He observed that rapidly growing urban centres require dedicated yet integrated policing models, including efficient traffic management, specialized protection units, and data-based crime control strategies.

He remarked that graduation ceremonies mark the beginning of greater professional responsibilities, urging officers to adopt reform-oriented approaches, uphold institutional integrity, and strengthen public trust through lawful and impartial policing.
Authority with accountability builds legitimacy, he said, advising officers to resist undue influence, embrace technology, and ensure that police stations function as centres of protection and facilitation for citizens.
Officials said a total of 12 officers, including four officers from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), successfully completed the one-month training programme aimed at enhancing professional capacity in modern crime management and police administration.
The Academy delivered comprehensive training modules through guest lectures, tutorials, and field visits. Subject experts from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), along with NPA instructors, imparted specialized instruction.
Commandant National Police Academy, senior faculty members, and officers were present at the ceremony. A documentary highlighting key activities and learning components of the course was also screened.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Senior Course Commander Arsla Salim appreciated the Academy’s professional training environment and acknowledged the role of instructors and administration.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, SSP Haider Sultan, Domain Commander, presented a souvenir to Dr Shoaib Suddle.
