RAWALPINDI, Feb 19 (APP): The district administration on Thursday arranged the first Iftar at the Negahban Dastarkhwan set up at District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital and Holy Family Hospital, where Member National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb and Deputy Commissioner Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema joined guests to break their fast.
Assistant Commissioner (City) Iman Zafar, hospital administrators and other relevant officials were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, MNA Tahira Aurangzeb said that, in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, providing dignified and quality facilities to deserving and under-treatment patients during the Holy Month of Ramazan remained the government’s top priority.

She said initiatives like the Negahban Dastarkhwan reflected public welfare and would provide tangible relief to the poor and needy.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema said the district administration was carrying out special monitoring to ensure proper arrangements at the Negahban Dastarkhwan so that patients, their attendants and deserving individuals received quality and timely Iftar.

He directed the relevant officials to ensure cleanliness, discipline and food quality, adding that no compromise would be made on these aspects.
The deputy commissioner said all possible measures were being taken during Ramazan to maximise public facilitation, adding that the district administration would continue effective oversight of welfare initiatives to ensure that benefits reached deserving people in real terms.
