ISLAMABAD, Feb 19 (APP):Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, called on Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Dr Musadik Malik on Thursday to discuss climate cooperation and bilateral ties, according to an official statement.
During the meeting, the ambassador appreciated Pakistan’s position at the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) meeting on climate change, particularly the minister’s emphasis on collective global responsibility and concerns over inconsistencies in international climate commitments.

He acknowledged Pakistan’s role in advocating equitable climate action for developing countries.
Both sides reaffirmed what they described as longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, highlighting cultural and historical ties between the two countries.
The envoy also invited the minister to attend the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, scheduled to be held in Baku from May 17 to 22, 2026.
The forum is expected to focus on climate-urban challenges, resilience building and sustainable urban development.
Dr Malik welcomed the invitation and stressed the importance of continued collaboration between the two countries on environmental and climate-related initiatives.
