Ramazan beautification plan unveiled for Rawalpindi District

RAWALPINDI, Feb 19 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema has devised a special beautification plan for the holy month of Ramazan to enhance the appearance of the cities across the district, and provide a pleasant and spiritual environment for residents, a spokesman said on Thursday.
Under the plan, beautification measures have been implemented across all tehsils of the district, including Taxila, Kahuta, Gujar Khan, City, Cantt, Saddar and Kallar Syedan. Special arrangements have been made to decorate major highways, Bazaars, mosques, government buildings and public places in view of the sanctity and spirit of Ramazan.
The district administration has directed the relevant departments to ensure that no effort is spared in carrying out the beautification plan during the holy month.
To ensure the availability of quality essential items at affordable rates, Ramazan Bazaars have also been established across the district. Flour, sugar, ghee, pulses, vegetables, fruit and other basic commodities are being provided at official prices to offer relief to the public amid rising inflation.
The administration has taken special measures to improve facilities and maintain quality standards at the bazaars. Price magistrates have been deployed to ensure effective price control and to monitor implementation of official rate lists, quality and availability on a daily basis.
The spokesman said strict action, including fines, was being taken against violations, while the deputy commissioner had directed that maximum facilitation be provided to the public and that a zero-tolerance policy be enforced against profiteering.
