PESHAWAR, Feb 17 (APP):The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Elite Force, and Police killed three most wanted terrorists in a joint operation in Shangla’s Kabal Gram area.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, Elite Force, and the CTD achieved a major success as three highly wanted terrorists were killed, security sources said.
Among the terrorists killed was Noor Islam, who had a bounty of Rs 5 million on his head announced by the KP government and was the ringleader of Fitna al-Khawarij, they said.
They said that one terrorist blew himself up to avoid arrest. During the operation, there was also an intense exchange of fire in which three police personnel embraced martyrdom. The martyred police officers were identified as Maqbool Ahmed, Fida Hussain, and Saeed-ur-Rehman, security sources said.
Meanwhile, defense experts said that the presence of terrorists in Kabal Gram confirms that they were planning a major terrorist attack. This targeted operation marks an important advancement in the counter-terrorism strategy, effectively weakening the organized network of Fitna al-Khawarij, they said.
They said that the terrorist group was also involved in past attacks on Chinese nationals. The sacrifice of the martyred personnel is a shining example of safeguarding national security and a practical demonstration of the state’s unwavering resolve against terrorism, they added.
