ISLAMABAD, Feb 16 (APP):The 76th meeting of the Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR) was held at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), where research projects were appreciated.
The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood. University deans, senior professors, faculty members as well as renowned external experts from various universities across the country also participated.
On the first day of the meeting, 12 PhD and 102 MPhil scholars from the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Education presented their research proposals (synopses).
The research projects presented during the meeting were not only appreciated by the participants, but the scholars’ academic standard, research depth and critical abilities were also highly praised.
The agenda of the meeting was presented by the Director BASR, Professor Dr Irshad Ahmed Arshad.
Prof. Dr Nasir Mahmood advised the scholars to carry forward their research activities with innovation, objectivity and in accordance with international standards so that the positive outcomes of research could be effectively conveyed to society.
Participants emphasized the need to further improve the quality of research, align it with international research requirements and promote interdisciplinary research.
During the meeting, it was also agreed that quality research is not only a means of academic advancement but also plays an important role in highlighting the university’s positive image at national and international levels.
Today, on the second day of the meeting, 15 research scholars from the Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies and the Faculty of Science are defending their research proposals.
