LAHORE, Feb 13 (APP): A live AI workshop was organised at the National Incubation Center (NIC) Lahore under the ongoing Indus AI Week (Feb 9–15, 2026) being held nationwide under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT).
The workshop, arranged in collaboration with the Google Community, was led by Google expert Mashhood Rastgar and titled “Mastering Advanced Context Engineering for Your AI-Driven Coding.” It highlighted modern techniques of AI-assisted software development using Google Gemini tools and agentic coding workflows.
More than 150 participants registered for the workshop, while many also joined online, reflecting the growing trend of artificial intelligence adoption and increasing interest from industry and academia in Pakistan. During the 60-minute hands-on training session, participants were introduced to modern AI development methodologies, context engineering, structured AI workflows, and the emerging paradigm of agentic coding using Gemini CLI.
The session emphasised practical applications to help developers, startup founders, researchers, and students understand the effective use of AI in real-world software engineering.
Speakers at the seminar appreciated the leadership of Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja for organising Indus AI Week, stating that her vision to make Pakistan a regional hub of artificial intelligence, innovation, and digital transformation is bringing together government institutions, industry, academia, and the startup ecosystem on one platform.
Experts noted that context engineering plays a key role in making AI applications more effective and accurate, while advanced models like Google Gemini are opening new avenues in research, journalism, business, and education.
At the end of the event, participants showed keen interest in the question-and-answer session and termed the organisation of more such technical sessions a need of the hour.
