PESHAWAR, Feb 13 (APP): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) on Friday concluded a high-level professional session titled “AI for Journalism” as part of Indus AI Week 2026, aimed at enhancing digital capacity within the media sector.
The session brought together journalists, editors, and media professionals to examine how artificial intelligence is reshaping newsroom operations and journalistic practices.
Experts highlighted the use of AI in content production, editorial workflows, data-driven reporting, fact-checking, and combating misinformation.
Interactive discussions and live demonstrations provided participants with practical insights into integrating AI-powered tools into daily reporting while maintaining accuracy and editorial standards.
Addressing the participants, KPITB Managing Director Dr Akif Khan stressed the need for journalists to develop strong digital competencies.
He emphasized that while AI offers significant opportunities for efficiency and innovation, its adoption must be guided by responsibility, transparency, and professional ethics.
The session also focused on the ethical dimensions of AI in journalism, including accountability, reliability of information, and public trust.
