GUJRAT, Feb 13 (APP): A meeting of the District Development Committee (DDC) was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi and two development schemes worth Rs 146 million were approved.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Waqas Safdar Sikandari, DDO Development Tasawar Abbas and other concerned officers attended
the meeting.
The committee approved two schemes of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). The first scheme is related to the construction of a protective embankment in Nadala Sector Surkhpur at a cost of Rs 98 million. The project will help prevent overflow of River Tawi during heavy rains.
The second scheme includes construction of four solid stone studs at Bhimber Nullah, Head Village Gujra Kotla, with an estimated cost of Rs 48 million.
The meeting directed the authorities concerned to start work on both projects immediately and complete them within the stipulated time to avoid possible losses during the upcoming rainy season.
