RAWALPINDI, Feb 12 (APP): City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting at the Police Lines Headquarters to review the city’s security situation and issue directives for enhanced protective measures.
Senior officials including the Senior Superintendents of Police (SSP) Operations and Investigation, Chief Traffic Officer, divisional SPs, and other senior officers attended the meeting.

The CPO directed that foolproof security arrangements be ensured at all times and ordered special checkpoints and patrolling to be strengthened across all city entry and exit points and major thoroughfares.
He also instructed officers to accelerate search, sweep, and combing operations around sensitive locations.
The SSPs briefed the CPO on security arrangements at mosques, Imambargahs, and other critical sites across the city.
The CPO stressed the need for daily crackdown and search operations under the Tenancy Act, urging citizens to complete tenant registration and employee verification at police service centres or relevant police stations to prevent criminals from accessing unregistered premises or employment.
He ordered that public transport drivers maintain complete records of passengers for verification, and that online or app-based transport operators be duly registered, warning that legal action would be taken against unregistered drivers.
The CPO instructed Dolphin and Muhafiz squads, along with police mobile units, to ensure effective and coordinated patrolling across the city. He also directed the continuous monitoring of Safe City cameras and the activation of intelligence-based operations.
Emphasizing public safety as the top priority, the CPO called on officers to supervise field operations personally and confirmed that all available resources are being deployed to ensure foolproof security in Rawalpindi.
