SARGODHA, Feb 12 (APP): Sargodha clinched a thrilling 2-1 victory over Bahawalpur in a closely contested match of the 3rd Army Chief Inter Hockey Club Championship 2026 (ACHCC) at the Sargodha Astroturf Hockey Stadium on Thursday.
This championship was organized by Pakistan Hockey Federation and Sports department Sargodha.
Speaking on the occasion, Tournament Secretary Chaudhry Fayyaz Ahmed Hanjra and Tournament Director Malik Shafqat Olympian said that nine teams from across Punjab are participating in the championship, with nearly 200 players showcasing their talent.
They added that the final day of the tournament will be held on the 15th, followed by a prize distribution ceremony after the final match.
The officials further stated that the top five teams selected from this tournament will advance to compete at the national-level competitions in Lahore.
They emphasized that such events provide young players with valuable opportunities to polish their skills and progress in their careers.
Highlighting the significance of the sport, they noted that hockey is Pakistan’s national game and tournaments like this play a vital role in its revival and promotion.
A large number of hockey enthusiasts from Sargodha attended the match and extended full support to their team.
