No retaining walls built near Lahore in last three years: NA Told

ISLAMABAD, Feb 12 (APP):Parliamentary Secretary for Communications Gul Asghar Khan informed the National Assembly on Thursday that no road protection or retaining walls have been constructed in Lahore or its surrounding areas by the National Highway Authority (NHA) during the last three years.
Responding to a question during the Question Hour, he clarified that while concerns had been raised regarding retaining walls in Lahore, no such structures were built by the NHA in the specified period.
However, he noted that two major infrastructure projects were completed in the vicinity of Lahore during the last three years. The first project was the construction of the Imamia Colony Railway Flyover, which was completed and opened to traffic on March 15, 2024.
The second project was the construction of the Kot Pindi Das Interchange at KM 30+000 on the Lahore–Islamabad Motorway, which was completed and made operational on March 15, 2025.
The parliamentary secretary added that if specific locations are identified where retaining walls are required to prevent damage, the matter can be reviewed accordingly.
