NARAN, Feb 11 (APP): Intermittent rain continued in Mansehra city and its adjoining areas since late night, while snowfall persisted in the upper regions and mountainous areas of Kaghan, Siran, and Konsh valleys, intensifying the cold weather across the district.
Fresh snowfall has added approximately six inches of snow in the tourist resort of Shogran, while four to five inches have accumulated in Kaghan. The continuing snowfall has significantly lowered temperatures in these areas.
According to a spokesperson for the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA), in view of the prevailing weather conditions, only four-wheel-drive vehicles and vehicles equipped with snow chains are being allowed to travel on Shogran Road to ensure public safety and prevent any untoward incidents.
On the directives of KDA Director General Rahmat Ali, staff have been deployed at Shogran Road and other sensitive locations to facilitate tourists and local residents. The teams are actively engaged in clearing snow and removing obstacles from Shogran Road and other connecting routes.
The KDA has urged tourists to exercise caution, avoid unnecessary travel, and seek updated information from relevant authorities before planning their journey.
