SARGODHA, Feb 11 (APP): The Riaz Shad Co-Curricular Forum of the University of Sargodha organized inter-university Urdu debate and humorous speech competitions to provide a platform for students to showcase their oratorical skills, a university spokesperson said on Wednesday.
More than 35 students from various departments participated in the event, demonstrating their talent in public speaking and rhetoric.
The topic for the Urdu debate was ‘Fareb Khaya Hum Ne Ghalat Saharon Ka’, while the humorous speech competition was held under the theme ‘Khalis Shaheenon ka Maskan University of Sargodha’.
The competitions were adjudicated by Advocate Farrukh Ijaz Naseer and Muhammad Ali Sajid, while the Public Relations Officer of Sargodha University, Muhammad Usman, served as the chief judge. In the Urdu debate category, Hamna Azam from the Department of Biotechnology clinched the first position, Maida Habib of International Relations secured second, and Mubashir Yaqoob from the English Department stood third.
For the humorous speech competition, Mehreen from the Psychology Department obtained the first position, while Muhammad Ali Raza of the English Department won second place.
Assistant Registrar Daim Iqbal and Assistant Ghalib Shah addressed the participants during the concluding session, where they expressed gratitude to the judges and guests for their role in making the event a success.
