KARACHI, Feb 10 (APP): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Javed Alam Odho visited the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh, where he reviewed the department’s overall performance and operational preparedness.
Upon his arrival, a smartly turned-out police contingent presented a guard of honour to the IGP Sindh, said a news release on Tuesday.
The Additional IGP CTD and DIGP CTD received him at the department.
During the visit, the IGP Sindh toured different units of the Counter Terrorism Department, including the Fusion Centre. He also met officers and staff of CTD and discussed professional matters and operational responsibilities.
The IGP Sindh was briefed on the performance of various CTD sections. The DIGP CTD gave a detailed presentation on the department’s overall functioning, available resources, technical equipment, and other operational aspects.
A comprehensive briefing was also given on the role of CTD in combating serious crimes, particularly terrorism-related activities.
The IGP Sindh reviewed the performance of different wings of the department and issued necessary instructions for further improvement.
Appreciating the efforts of CTD against terrorism, IGP Sindh Javed Alam Odho emphasised the need for more effective and coordinated strategies to counter the threat.
