Uninterrupted flow of traffic top priority in Rawalpindi, says CTO

RAWALPINDI, Feb 10 (APP): Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam on Tuesday said the uninterrupted flow of traffic and ease for road users must remain the top priority of the traffic police across the district.
Addressing a meeting at the Traffic Headquarters with circle, sector and duty officers along with office staff, the CTO reviewed district-wide traffic arrangements and administrative matters, according to CTP spokesperson.
Farhan Aslam directed officers to enforce traffic laws with professionalism, patience and courtesy, stressing that public facilitation should go hand in hand with strict legal action.
“Citizens should be guided politely, and any violation must be pointed out with tolerance and respect,” he said, adding that challans tickets and legal proceedings must be transparent and strictly in accordance with the law.
He instructed officials at licensing centres to ensure maximum facilitation for visitors and warned that any misconduct, particularly towards women and elderly citizens, would not be tolerated.
The CTO further ordered zero tolerance against serious traffic violations, including motorcyclist without helmets and seat belts, wrong-way driving and over-speeding, saying strict enforcement was essential to prevent road accidents and safeguard lives and property.
“We must strengthen public trust through good conduct and present Rawalpindi as a role model for traffic management across the province,” he concluded.
