Minister reviews development projects in Gujrat

GUJRAT, Feb 10 (APP): Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain on Tuesday reviewed progress of ongoing development projects
in the city.
During the visit, the provincial minister went to the Punjab WASA Gujrat office,
where he inspected the modern online complaint redressal system at the
complaints cell. Managing Director WASA Gujrat briefed him on
the progress of ongoing development schemes and sewerage projects.
Chaudhry Shafay Hussain also reviewed the pace of work on Service Mor Bridge, Rehman Shaheed Road and the construction of a disposal station at Zahoor Elahi Shaheed Stadium.
Expressing satisfaction over WASA’s performance, he said the authority was removing sewerage waste accumulated over the last 15 to 20 years.
The provincial minister said that after the approval of the Chief Minister Punjab, work was underway on a world-class sewerage system project worth Rs 18 billion in Gujrat city, which would be completed within two years. He added that development schemes worth billions of rupees were being executed at a fast pace across the city.
He directed the authorities to complete all arrangements before the upcoming monsoon season, stressing that there was no room for negligence. He instructed them to keep contingency plans ready, ensure coordination among departments, monitor projects effectively and maintain machinery properly.
The minister said the Service Mor Bridge was in the final stages of completion and would be opened for traffic within the next one and a half months. He further directed the timely, transparent and quality completion of all development projects.
