ISLAMABAD, Feb 09 (APP): The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday witnessed a bearish trend, losing 1,789.20 points, a negative change of 0.97 percent, to close at 182,340.38 points compared to 184,129.58 points on the previous trading day, according to PSX data.
During the session, the ready market recorded a trading volume of 931.362 million shares with a traded value of Rs 58.875 billion, against 1,272.641 million shares valuing Rs 60.359 billion in the previous session.
Market capitalization declined to Rs 20.710 trillion from Rs 20.882 trillion a day earlier.
Out of 481 active companies in the ready market, 161 advanced, 278 declined, while 42 remained unchanged.
K-Electric Limited topped the volume chart with 302.440 million shares, followed by Bank of Punjab with 52.951 million shares and Agha Steel Ind. with 46.978 million shares.
The top gainers included Nestle Pakistan Limited, which rose by Rs 412.53 to close at Rs 8,265.26, and Sazgar Engineering Works Limited, which gained Rs 123.56 to settle at Rs2,455.81.
On the losing side, PIA Holding Company Limited (B) declined by Rs 282.00 to close at Rs 18,950.00, while Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited fell by Rs 279.08 to close at Rs 26,500.00.
In the futures market, turnover stood at 15.830 million shares with a traded value of Rs 216.406 billion, compared to 278.253 million shares worth Rs 15.252 billion in the previous session.
Out of 322 futures-market companies, 88 recorded gains, while 228 declined with 06 remaining unchanged.
