KP SACM calls for expedited completion of development projects in Kohat

PESHAWAR, Feb 09 (APP): In an important high-level meeting, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister (SACM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information and Public Relations, Shafi Jan on Monday reviewed ongoing and proposed development projects in Kohat and assessed measures for improving the city’s urban infrastructure.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz Wazir, Additional Deputy Commissioner (F&P) Amir Ali Shah, Chief Engineer KPCIP, representatives of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), officials of the Urban Area Development Authority, and Qasim Zubair, focal person of MNA Shehryar Afridi.
Participants held detailed discussions on the construction and rehabilitation of roads, gas pipeline installation, drainage systems, urban beautification, provision of basic civic amenities, and the progress, quality, and timelines of various development schemes.
Matters relating to inter-departmental coordination, public complaints, and hurdles causing delays in ongoing projects were also thoroughly reviewed.
Addressing the meeting, SACM Shafi Jan directed all concerned departments to adopt close coordination and an integrated approach to avoid unnecessary delays and ensure timely, effective, and sustainable solutions to public issues.
He emphasized that the improvement of urban facilities is a top priority of the provincial government, in line with the directives of the Chief Minister.
He further stated that any negligence or inefficiency in development work in a major city like Kohat would not be tolerated and called for strict monitoring of project execution.
The meeting concluded with a review of key proposals, the assignment of clear responsibilities with defined timelines, and instructions for the immediate implementation of decisions aimed at accelerating development and improving civic services for the residents of Kohat.
