Quetta launches citywide cleanliness drive to eliminate legacy waste

QUETTA, Feb 09 (APP):The Metropolitan Corporation Quetta (MCQ) has announced the launch of a comprehensive citywide cleanliness campaign to eliminate legacy waste accumulated across the provincial capital.
The initiative, beginning February 9, is being carried out under the vision and directives of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti.
Officials said that the campaign will focus on the systematic removal of long-standing backlog waste using modern methods, with safe disposal in line with environmental standards.
The effort aims to improve the city’s cleanliness, enhance its visual appeal, and provide residents with a healthier and more sustainable living environment.
MCQ emphasized that all available municipal resources will be mobilized, with sanitation teams actively deployed to ensure effective implementation. Progress will be closely monitored to deliver timely and tangible results.
Citizens have been urged to cooperate with the administration by disposing of waste only at designated points and supporting sanitation workers.
Authorities described cleanliness as a shared national responsibility and expressed optimism that coordinated efforts between the administration and the public will help transform Quetta into a clean, green, and model city, setting an example for urban management across Balochistan.
