Punjab Governor visits blast site, condoles mosque Imam

RAWALPINDI, Feb 08 (APP): Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Sunday visited the Imambargah Khadija-tul-Kubra in Trilai Kalan, where a suicide blast took place a couple of days ago, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of several worshippers.
Upon arrival at the site, the Governor was briefed in detail about the entire incident by the Imam of the Imambargah, Raja Basharat Hussain Imami, who explained the nature of the blast and the situation following the attack. The Governor offered prayers for the martyrs and inquired about the well-being of the injured.
Speaking to the media, Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that terrorists carried blasts in mosques have no connection with the religion of Islam.
He condemned the blast in the strongest terms and reaffirmed that terrorists would be brought to justice.
“Those who target Muslims bowing down to Allah Almighty in places of worship, will be made an example and brought to justice”, he said adding that issuing condemnation statements of a suicide attack on an Imambargah can never be enough.
He reminded that country’s valour security forces were already engaged in eradicating the terror network from the country .
“The officers and soldiers of the Pakistan armed forces have rendered immortal sacrifices in the war against terrorism”, he said.
The governor highlighted that those acting upon Indian sponsorship would be punished hard. “Indian-sponsored terrorists and their facilitators will be taken to their logical end”, said the Punjab governor .
He expressed deep sorrow over loss of precious lives in the blast and offered prayers for their high ranks in the world afterwards.
“In this hour of grief, we stand fully with the families of the martyrs and the injured”, he added.
