FIA reports 18bn rs recoveries, 4,244 convictions in 2025

ISLAMABAD, Feb 08 (APP): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) recorded Rs18 billion in recoveries, secured 4,244 convictions and arrested 2,333 accused during the year 2025.
An official told APP on Sunday that the FIA, in its Annual Performance Report 2025, shared detailed data on enquiries, investigations, prosecutions and recoveries carried out during the year.
According to the report, the agency handled a total of 68,551 enquiries, including 41,750 carried forward from 2024 and 26,801 newly registered enquiries in 2025.
Out of these, 34,078 enquiries were finalized, 6,383 were converted into regular cases, while 34,473 enquiries remained under process, the report stated.
Regarding case progression, the FIA dealt with 36,265 cases during the year, comprising 26,610 cases brought forward from 2024 and 9,655 newly registered cases in 2025.
The agency challaned 16,236 cases, finalized 17,339 cases, while 18,926 cases were pending at different stages of investigation and trial.
The report further highlighted that FIA operations led to the arrest of 2,333 accused, while courts awarded 4,244 convictions in cases pursued by the agency.
A major milestone during the year was the recovery of Rs18 billion, underscoring the FIA’s efforts against financial crimes, corruption, fraud and other organized illegal activities.
The FIA said the performance reflects its commitment to honesty, integrity and effective law enforcement, adding that measures are being further strengthened to improve investigations, prosecutions and public trust.
