KARACHI, Feb 07 (APP): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday inaugurated a 10-day Spring Festival and Flower Exhibition organized by the Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) Korangi, where he attended the event as chief guest.
Addressing the ceremony, Governor Kundi said the Korangi ground was a result of the tireless efforts of the Pakistan Peoples Party’s Jiyala town chairman.
He recalled that the area had previously been under the control of the land-grabbing mafia, but today it stands open and vibrant for public use.
He said this transformation reflected the commitment of the Jiyala mayor and town chairman, adding that their efforts were helping keep Karachi alive as the “City of Lights.”
The Governor said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is currently facing the challenge of terrorism, with police and law enforcement agencies bravely confronting militants on the front lines.
He expressed confidence that peace would soon be restored in the province and that similar celebrations and public activities would return there as well.
Governor Kundi further said that such events not only provide healthy recreation to citizens but also promote social harmony and positive community engagement. He appreciated the initiatives of TMC Korangi and congratulated the administration on successfully organizing the event.
