ISLAMABAD, Feb 07 (APP): The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) has officially launched its first-ever PNCA Live Series, marking a significant milestone in the promotion of live music and contemporary performing arts in Pakistan.
The initiative is produced and initiated by Mr. Inayat Ur Rahman, Supervisor Performing Arts, PNCA.
The PNCA Live Series is a visionary cultural initiative aimed at providing a professional and inclusive platform for artists from all regions of Pakistan.
The series seeks to celebrate musical diversity, promote cultural dialogue, and reconnect audiences with high-quality live performances in an institutional setting.
The inaugural edition, PNCA Live Series–1, will feature the renowned band Khumariyan from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), known for their powerful fusion of traditional Pashto folk music with contemporary sounds.
The event is scheduled to take place on February 14 from 07:30 PM to 10:30 PM, at PNCA.
Commenting on the launch, the Director General, PNCA, stated:
“The PNCA Live Series is an important step towards revitalizing live performing arts in Pakistan. Through this initiative, PNCA aims to provide sustained platforms for artists from all provinces, promote cultural harmony, and present Pakistan’s diverse artistic expressions to wider audiences. We are pleased to begin this journey with Khumariyan, whose work beautifully represents the spirit of regional music rooted in tradition and innovation.”
Mr. Inayat Ur Rahman, Producer and Initiator of the series, emphasized that PNCA Live Series has been envisioned as a continuous cultural program, with each edition highlighting different genres, regions, and artistic expressions.
The initiative aligns with PNCA’s mandate to preserve, promote, and present Pakistan’s performing arts while encouraging creativity and contemporary interpretation.
Future editions of the PNCA Live Series will feature artists from across the country, strengthening national integration through culture and reinforcing PNCA’s role as a leading national institution for the performing arts.
