ISLAMABAD, Feb 06 (APP): Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said on Friday that an emergency had been declared in all hospitals in the federal capital, with clear instructions issued to ensure all possible medical treatment for the injured.
Talking to the media after visiting Polyclinic Hospital along with Raja Khurram Shahzad Nawaz, he said victims injured in the blast at an Imambargah in the Tarlai area were shifted to PIMS and Polyclinic hospitals in Islamabad, while the bodies of those martyred were also brought to hospitals.
The minister said emergency measures had also been enforced in government hospitals located near the Tarlai area, adding that private hospitals in the vicinity were also providing full medical assistance to the injured.
He said every possible effort was being made to provide maximum medical and humanitarian services to the victims.
Expressing solidarity with the bereaved families, the minister said the government shared their grief and stood with them in this difficult time.
Terming the incident extremely tragic, he said such acts of targeting innocent civilians and places of worship were acts of sheer terrorism and condemned the attack in the strongest possible terms.
He added that terrorists were enemies of Pakistan as well as of Islam.
The minister said Pakistan’s armed forces and intelligence agencies were fully engaged in countering terrorism and reiterated that the complete elimination of terrorism from the country remained the government’s top priority. He said operations against terrorists would continue until the menace was fully eradicated.
Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said Pakistan was a peace-loving country and desired peace in the region, but alleged that infiltration and terrorist activities originating from across the border, particularly from India, were behind such attacks, including incidents in Balochistan, former FATA areas and now Islamabad.
Expressing solidarity with the affected families, he assured that the government stood shoulder to shoulder with the bereaved and would ensure that all possible medical and humanitarian facilities were provided to the injured.
He added that no negligence would be tolerated in the treatment of the victims and that efforts for their early recovery
would continue in the coming days.
