Basant Festival: Rescue 1122’s special emergency plan released

LAHORE, Feb 06 (APP): To ensure the safety of lives and property of citizens on Basant Festival, the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) released special emergency plan on Friday.
A statement the slogan for event is: ‘Celebrate Basant with Safety’.
According to Rescue 1122 sources, the personnel will remain on high alert during Basant on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Lahore, as more than 1200 trained rescuers, 56 ambulances, 24 fire vehicles and 300 rescue motorbikes will be deployed at important places across the city.
In addition to the 23 rescue stations in Lahore, special “key points” have been established at various sensitive and important locations. Along with the rescue stations, emergency ambulances, fire vehicles and rescue motorbikes will be deployed at 180 important key points to enable immediate response in any emergency.
In view of the narrow streets and traffic pressure, rescue motorbikes have been deployed at special key points for timely access. Special rescue teams will also be present in various areas including Walled City, Mozang, Ichhra, Shad Bagh and Data Darbar.
According to Rescue 1122, in case of any major emergency, backup rescue teams will be available immediately from nearby districts. During the Basant Festival, rescue and medical corps as well as routine rescue operations will continue as usual.
Rescue officials say that during the Basant festival, the Provincial Emergency Operations Center and the District Command and Control Center Lahore are monitoring all operations so that any emergency situation can be dealt with effectively.
Rescue 1122 has appealed to citizens to celebrate Basant responsibly and with caution and to call 1122 immediately in case of any emergency.
