RWMC swift response resolve drain issue in Pindi Gheb

RAWALPINDI, Feb 06 (APP):Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) has promptly addressed a long-awaited public grievance under the Saaf Suthra Punjab programme, and successfully resolved a major issue in Pindi Gheb.
Following a citizens’ complaint, the drain located adjacent to a government school in the Ikhlas area was thoroughly cleaned and significantly widened.
According to the details, the operation was carried out under the direct supervision of Assistant Commissioner Pindi Gheb Muhammad Zunair and in line with special instructions issued by CEO Rawalpindi Waste Management Company Rana Sajid Safdar.
Tehsil Manager Pindi Gheb Ali Raza Mughal, along with his team, workforce and machinery executed the complete cleaning of the drain and took effective measures to increase its width.
Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Zunair said that the immediate resolution of public problems remains the top priority of the administration. He said that cleaning and widening the drain will not only improve rainwater drainage during the rainy season but will also permanently resolve the long-standing problem being faced by schoolchildren and residents. He further assured that steps will be taken in the coming days to properly line (pukka) the drain so that the issue does not recur on a permanent basis.
CEO RWMC Rana Sajid Safdar remarked that timely redressal of citizens’ complaints under the Saaf Suthra Punjab programme is RWMC’s top responsibility.
“The work carried out in Pindi Gheb reflects our firm commitment to resolve drainage and sanitation issues on a priority basis”, he said.
Tehsil Manager Ali Raza Mughal explained that modern machinery and trained staff were deployed during the cleaning and widening process to restore smooth water flow and prevent any future blockages.
Residents of the area and the school administration expressed gratitude to the district administration and Rawalpindi Waste Management Company for the swift action and expressed hope that the same efficient approach towards solving public problems will continue in the future.
