ISLAMABAD, Feb 06 (APP):Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah on Friday informed the Senate that all entitlements and facilities admissible under the law and court orders were being provided to the PTI’s Founder during his incarceration.
Responding point raised by Leader of the House in Senate,  he clarified that whenever the government was questioned within the framework of rules and law, the response would also be given strictly in accordance with relevant legal provisions.
He welcomed the remarks made by Senator Swati, particularly his acknowledgment that mistakes could occur on all sides. “We do not claim that we cannot make mistakes,” he said, adding that politics should focus on reducing hatred and promoting understanding rather than deepening divisions.
Rana Sanaullah said that medical care was being provided strictly in line with his legal status and court directives. He said the treatment was carried out according to the former premier’s own wishes and medical advice.
He said that it was inappropriate to link a cultural festival in Punjab with the security situation in Balochistan, stressing that such comparisons only served the agenda of terrorists.
He said the festival in Punjab had been announced weeks and months in advance and was not organised in response to any tragic incident. “We should not speak the language of terrorists,” he said, adding that Pakistanis must remain united and reject attempts to create divisions such as Punjabi versus Baloch.
Regarding meetings and restrictions of PTI Founder, he said the matter was already regulated by the Islamabad High Court.
He said that the petition regarding meetings had been disposed of after commitments were recorded before the court, which clearly defined schedules for family and lawyers’ meetings.
He said once a matter was regulated judicially, all parties were bound to comply with the court’s directions. “If anyone believes that court orders are not being implemented, the proper forum is the court itself,” he added.
Rejecting claims of peaceful protests, Rana Sanaullah referred to incidents on May 9 and November 26, questioning how actions such as road blockades and wheel-jam strikes could be described as peaceful. “A wheel-jam strike in itself amounts to violence,” he remarked.
