ISLAMABAD, Feb 05 (APP):Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Sweet Home Zamurd Khan said on Thursday that the Pakistani nation stood united under the flags of Pakistan and Kashmir, expressing solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Addressing a Kashmir rally, held in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day, he said this year’s observance of Feb 5 reflected renewed national spirit and unity, sending as a clear message of support to Kashmiris.
Khan said children and youth across Pakistan were actively expressing solidarity with Kashmiris, particularly women and young people in the region, adding that they wished to assure them they were not alone.
Referring to the slogan “Kashmir will become Pakistan,” he said many Pakistanis viewed it as an expression of emotional and historical connection with Kashmir, while expressing hope that the dispute would ultimately be resolved.
He also referred to the first United Nations resolution on Kashmir adopted in 1947, noting that its implementation remained pending decades later, which he termed a continuing injustice to the Kashmiri people.
Paying tribute to those who lost their lives in the conflict, Khan said their sacrifices symbolised as a lasting bond between Pakistan and Kashmir.
He added that Pakistani youth would continue raising awareness about the Kashmir issue at national and international forums.
He congratulated the country’s political and military leadership for their efforts to strengthen national confidence, and said participation from across the provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir reflected national unity on the issue.
Highlighting the attendance of political figures, including Federal Minister Ameer Muqam, he said the gathering conveyed a message of continued support for Kashmir irrespective of specific commemorative dates.
Khan also praised children from Pakistan Sweet Home for their participation, noting their enthusiasm in marking Kashmir Solidarity Day.
The event concluded with prayers led by religious scholar Shabbir Usmani for peace, unity and a just resolution of the Kashmir Issue.
