ISLAMABAD, Feb 05 (APP):Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Khalid Hussain Magsi Thursday strongly reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for the people of Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), declaring that the right to self-determination is a fundamental and internationally recognized right of the Kashmiri people.
In his message, the federal minister said that India’s continued presence in IIoJK is a clear violation of international laws and United Nations resolutions.
He added that the unilateral measures taken by India in August 2019 had further destabilized the region and aggravated tensions in South Asia.
Khalid Hussain Magsi emphasized that the Kashmiri people have been facing grave human rights violations for decades, including unlawful detentions, restrictions on freedom of expression, and excessive use of force.
He noted that systematic demographic changes, demolition of homes, and digital blackouts were deliberate attempts to suppress the true situation in the occupied territory.
The federal minister also condemned the targeting of religious sites and increased surveillance of institutions, stating that such actions reflected deep-rooted religious intolerance and efforts to intimidate the local population.
Calling upon the international community to fulfill its moral and legal responsibilities, he urged global human rights organizations and world powers to take concrete steps to protect the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people and ensure accountability for ongoing abuses.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue to extend its political, moral, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri struggle until they achieve their legitimate right to self-determination in accordance with UN resolutions.
“The voice of Kashmir cannot be silenced through oppression,” the federal minister said, adding that Pakistan stands firmly with the people of Kashmir in their just cause.
