ISLAMABAD, Feb 4 (APP):The exports of services during the first half of the current fiscal year increased by 16.51 percent as compared to the exports of the corresponding period of the last year, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.
Exports of services during July-December 2025-26 were recorded at $4.764 billion as against the exports of $4.089 billion during the same period of last year, according to the latest PBS data.
During the period under review, the services imports into the country also grew by 15.75 percent and were registered at $6.504 billion as compared to the imports of $5.619 billion in the same period last year.
Based on the figures, the services trade deficit was recorded at $1.739 billion against the deficit of 1.529 billion last year, showing a growth of 13.73 percent.
Meanwhile, on a year-on-year basis, the exports of services increased by 15.94 percent in December 2025 as compared to the exports of the same month of last year. The exports in December 2025 were recorded at $935 million compared to $806 million in December 2024.
The imports of services also increased by 23.90 percent during the month by going up from $1.056 billion last December to $1.308 billion in December 2025, according to PBS data.
On a month-on-month basis, the exports from the country in December 2025 increased by 15.84 percent when compared to the exports of $807 million in November 2025.
The imports of services during the month also increased by 34.39 percent when compared to the exports of $973 million in November 2024.
