ISLAMABAD, Feb 04 (APP):Assistant Commissioner (AC) City Maheen Hassan led enforcement action in Sector F-7 and Blue Area, resulting in 23 detentions, including 8 people for roadside encroachments and 15 beggars moved to the police station.
The Islamabad city administration continued operations against begging and illegal roadside setups as part of routine enforcement in busy sectors.
The action was carried out under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner City Maheen Hassan, focusing on public spaces in Sector F-7 and the Blue Area.
During the operation in Sector F-7, officials removed roadside encroachments that were set up without permission. Eight individuals were taken into custody for occupying public space along the road. The administration stated that these setups were causing obstruction to traffic and pedestrians. Officials dismantled the encroachments and cleared the affected areas to restore access for the public.
In a separate action, teams moved through the Blue Area and parts of Sector F-7 to address the issue of begging. Fifteen beggars were detained during the operation and transferred to the relevant police station. According to officials, the move aimed to discourage organized begging and ensure that public places remain accessible.
The administration said the operation was conducted following standard procedures. Law enforcement personnel assisted the civil administration to ensure smooth execution. Officials noted that checks were carried out at multiple points, and individuals found violating regulations were dealt with on the spot.
Assistant Commissioner City Maheen Hassan stated that such actions are part of an ongoing drive to regulate public spaces and enforce existing rules. She said the administration will continue monitoring key areas and take action where violations are reported or observed.
The city administration urged citizens to follow rules related to the use of public spaces. Officials also appealed to the public to cooperate with enforcement teams during such operations and to report violations through official channels.
Authorities indicated that similar actions will continue in other sectors of the capital. The administration said the goal is to maintain order in public areas and ensure that roads, footpaths, and commercial zones remain open for intended use.
