Punjab Police spend over Rs 251.5m on welfare of force, families in Jan

LAHORE, Feb 03 (APP): Punjab Police have continued its welfare initiatives for police personnel and their families, spending over Rs 251.498 million on various support measures during the first month of the current year.
According to the police spokesperson, over Rs 82.680 million were released in the form of educational scholarships for children of police employees, while more than Rs 42.880 million were provided as wedding grants to daughters of police personnel.
He said that over Rs 41 million were spent on medical treatment facilities for police employees and their families, whereas payments exceeding Rs 30 million were disbursed under retirement grants.
The spokesperson added that more than Rs 43.540 million were provided to families of police employees under maintenance allowance, while Rs 9.850 million were paid under burial expenses. In addition, over Rs 1.548 million were released as immediate financial assistance to police personnel.
The spokesperson said that Punjab Police are further strengthening its welfare measures to ensure maximum possible facilities and support for the force and their families.
