ISLAMABAD, Feb 03 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired an important meeting at the Central Police Office to review ongoing police reforms and outline the future strategy of Islamabad Police.
A police spokesperson told APP on Tuesday that the meeting was attended by DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, DIG Headquarters Malik Jameel Zafar, and other senior police officers.
During the meeting, the IGP Rizvi conducted a detailed review of new reform initiatives being introduced in Islamabad Police and discussed future planning. He laid special emphasis on strengthening community policing and directed officers to further enhance confidence-building measures between the police and the public.
The IGP Rizvi issued clear instructions to make the service delivery system more effective and people-friendly, while directing comprehensive steps to further improve security for residents as well as tourists in the federal capital.
The meeting also held detailed discussions on modernizing investigation and prosecution systems, ensuring effective utilization of modern technology, and guaranteeing timely follow-up and disposal of cases.
The IGP Rizvi assigned various tasks to officers with clearly defined timelines and directed them to ensure strict implementation. Progress in cases related to serious crimes was also reviewed during the meeting.
Declaring the protection of citizens’ lives and property as the top priority, the IGP ordered further strengthening of security arrangements, improvement of the patrolling system, and acceleration of public facilitation initiatives.
He reiterated that Islamabad Police will take all possible measures to provide citizens with a safe, secure and peaceful environment across the federal capital.
