World Bank president visits Gurudwara in Khushab

SARGODHA, Feb 03 (APP): World Bank President Ajay Pal Singh Banga on Tuesday visited
his ancestral home and the historic Gurudwara Singh Sabha in Khushab.
The guests were warmly welcomed in accordance with local traditions by MPA Malik Asif Bhaa, government officials and local administration.
As a gesture of respect and hospitality, MPA Malik Asif Bha presented traditional shawls to Ajay Banga and Mrs Banga during the reception.
Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Qamar Zaman, Additional Secretary Shrines Nasser Mushtaq, Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali, district officers and other senior officials were present to welcome the World Bank chief on his arrival.
During his visit to the Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Ajay Banga expressed satisfaction over the renovation work and arrangements made at the religious site.
He was briefed on the preservation efforts undertaken to safeguard Sikh heritage in Pakistan.
Additional Secretary Nasser Mushtaq highlighted the steps being taken by the government to protect and maintain Sikh religious and cultural sites across the country.
On the occasion, ETPB Chairman Qamar Zaman presented special commemorative gifts to the visiting dignitary.
Ajay Banga praised Pakistan’s commitment to religious freedom and interfaith harmony, appreciating the facilities and respect extended to minority communities.
Chairman Qamar Zaman stated that the ETPB follows international standards in the preservation of religious heritage and commended the district administration and law enforcement agencies for ensuring effective security arrangements during the visit.
He added that Ajay Banga’s visit projected a positive image of Pakistan at the international level, reaffirming the country’s tradition of hospitality and continued support for Sikh pilgrims and religious institutions.
