ISLAMABAD, Feb 03 (APP):Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Khalid Hussain Magsi on Tuesday said that Pakistan considers its relationship with UNESCO not merely formal but a strategic partnership aimed at delivering tangible outcomes in science, technology, education, and sustainable development.
The minister expressed these views during his meeting with UNESCO Director-General Dr. Khaled El-Enany.

He added that national institutions, including the Pakistan Science Foundation and the National Institute of Oceanography, are fully aligned with UNESCO’s mission and objectives.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to applying science for social welfare, the minister said the country is moving from general cooperation towards more practical and result-oriented partnerships with UNESCO.
He highlighted environmental sustainability and climate resilience as Pakistan’s priority areas.
The minister also emphasized Pakistan’s focus on marine scientific research under the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development to support the blue economy.
He further termed non-formal education an important area of Pakistan–UNESCO cooperation, with both sides agreeing to deepen collaboration in this field.
