ISLAMABAD, Feb 02 (APP):An Anti-Narcotics Court (ANC) on Monday acquitted an accused in a drug case due to lack of the evidence.
Judge Raja Jawad Abbas Hassan heard the case registered at ANF Rawalpindi Police Station.
Danish Akbar Khan Advocate appeared in court on behalf of accused Syed Agha Hussain and took the position that the accused were arrested on the basis of doubt and later a false case was made. The accused has nothing to do with the alleged drugs.
He argued that the prosecution in drug cases is obliged to prove its case beyond any doubt, which it could not do. The named accused does not have any criminal record.
After hearing the arguments, the court issued an order of acquittal.
It may be mentioned here that the accused was alleged of smuggling 2 kg ice and 100 grams of cocaine in case number 197/2024 registered at ANF Rawalpindi Police Station.
