LAHORE, Feb 02 (APP): The birth anniversary of the exceptionally intelligent girl Arfa Karim Randhawa, who has made Pakistan’s name known worldwide in the field of IT, was celebrated on Monday, across the country.
Arfa Karim Randhawa, who created a stir in the world of information technology at the age of just 9, was born on February 2, 1995, in the village of Ram Diwali in Faisalabad. She achieved global fame by obtaining a software certificate at a young age.
Karim was awarded the Microsoft Applications Certified Certificate by Microsoft Corporation in 2005. Microsoft company owner Bill Gates specially called Arfa Karim to the United States and met her.
Arfa Karim won many awards at a young age, including the Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal, the Salaam Pakistan Youth Award, and the Presidential Medal of Excellence. In January 2012, the then Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani approved the issuance of a commemorative stamp in Arfa Karim’s name.
In recognition of Arfa Karim’s commendable and great achievement, the Punjab government named the IT Tower and her village after Arfa Karim.
