KP CM directs speedy payment to affectees of Tirah

PESHAWAR, Feb 02 (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Monday reviewed matters related to the payment of compensation to the affected people of Tirah, Kurram, and Bajaur and directed that the verification process be completed within one week to ensure the prompt disbursement of relief funds to affected people of Tirah.
The Chief Minister also instructed that a digital record of payments to the affected people be compiled.
Presiding over a meeting, he said that every single penny of the funds being spent for the assistance of the affected people must be accounted for, and no negligence or laxity in this regard will be tolerated.
He said provincial government will utilize all available resources for the assistance of the affected people, adding letters should be written to the federal government for the payment of outstanding dues owed to the affected people.
The Chief Minister also directed the establishment of a special fund for the rehabilitation and assistance of people affected by natural disasters and operations.
CM KP was told that out of the four billion rupees allocated for the assistance of the affected people, he said 900 million rupees have been spent so far
Registration of 17,000 affected households in Tirah Valley has been completed, and on a daily basis, payments to 1,000 households in Tirah will be ensured.
A digital dashboard is being established for payments to the affected people, and affected people residing in Bakkakhel Camp are being paid funds on a monthly basis.
Cabinet members Aqibullah and Muzammil Aslam, administrative secretaries of the relevant departments, concerned commissioners, and deputy commissioners attended the meeting.
