LAHORE, Feb 02 (APP): Twelve people were killed and 1,595 others injured in 1,374 road accidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours, according to a report, issued by the Rescue-1122, here on Monday.
As many as 671 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 924 with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by the rescue medical teams.
The data analysis showed that 911 drivers, 62 underage drivers, 154 pedestrians and 542 passengers were among the victims of road crashes. The statistics showed that 251 accidents were reported in Lahore, which affected 320, placing the provincial capital at top of the list, followed by Faisalabad with 94 accidents and 103 victims, and at third Multan with 78 accidents and 92 victims.
According to the data, 1,412 motorcycles, 120 rickshaws, 192 cars, 45 vans, 14 passenger buses, 44 trucks and 79 other types of vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the road accidents.
