ATTOCK, Feb 2 (APP):In a heartening welfare initiative aimed at supporting underprivileged families, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Monday hosted a mass wedding ceremony for 35 brides in Fateh Jang, reaffirming the government’s commitment to social inclusion and public service.
The ceremony was held at the Fateh Jang Sports Stadium, where the governor personally presented flower bouquets to the newlywed brides and bid them farewell with prayers for a blessed and prosperous married life.
Addressing the gathering,the governor said “My mission is public service,”, adding the brides participating in the collective wedding ceremony as his own daughters and pledged to work for the welfare for those whose voices often went unheard.
“There are many respectable families who cannot marry off their daughters due to limited resources. By the grace of Allah, after Him, I take responsibility for them,” the governor remarked.
Announcing further welfare measures, the governor said that 10,000 laptops would be distributed among students of Attock to promote education and digital empowerment.
He also announced that the series of mass wedding ceremonies would continue across the district.
