ISLAMABAD, Feb 2 (APP):Focal Person for the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) and Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Syeda Amnah Batool, stated on Monday that the narrative of despair regarding Pakistan’s future ,often echoed in coffee shops and social media spaces is fragile and unfounded. She emphasized that the true reality is the laptop in the hands of the youth, serving as a “key to the future” that connects them to the global economy.
In a post on the social media platform X , the PMYP Focal Person contrasted the “doom and gloom” slogans circulating online with the practical struggles and achievements of the youth.
She remarked that while stories claiming “it’s over for Pakistan” might go viral, they lack substance. She clarified that while some are merely talking, Pakistan’s ‘digital natives’ are carving out a new national identity through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and e-commerce.
Addressing the significance of the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, she asserted that these devices should not be viewed merely as electronic machines. Instead, they represent a ‘gateway’ for talented individuals who were previously held back by a lack of resources.
This laptop is your office, your university, and your creative studio. Through this, the State is sending a clear message.”we believe in your potential and we are investing in your dreams,” she stated.
Amnah Batool urged the youth to utilize this connectivity to compete with talent in Silicon Valley, London, and Tokyo, rather than wasting time on unproductive debates in coffee houses. She highlighted that freelancers and developers are already bringing valuable foreign exchange into the country, proving that for those who work hard, digital borders no longer exist.
Furthermore, she clarified that the distribution of laptops is not based on political patronage or charity, but is carried out strictly through a transparent, merit-based process. Under the leadership of PMYP Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, the government’s goal is to provide the necessary tools; it is now up to the youth to create their own masterpieces.
